Jim Ragsdale, the President of RE/COR Inc., co-owned and operated one of the largest and most respected roofing companies in the Denver Metro Area from 1972 to 1990 expanding with branch offices in Pocatello, Idaho; Casper, Wyoming; and Houston, Texas. The roofing company performed the installation of new roof coverings of all types of roofing materials from asphalt shingles to cedar shakes, clay and concrete tile, new alternative roofing materials and most flat roofing materials for mainly new construction - both residential and commercial. In later years, they also replaced existing roof coverings with new roof coverings on both residential and commercial buildings. While operating the roofing company, several roofing manufacturers consulted Jim Ragsdale routinely for his expertise and opinions in reviewing installation manuals and testing roofing products.
Established in 1990, RE/COR Inc. specialized in re-roofing, high-end custom new construction, and roof consulting. After 1998, the company no longer sold or installed roofing products and concentrated instead on roof consulting and inspections, mainly for City/County Building Departments. Jim has been very active in editing and writing proposals for improving and changing building codes for the roofing industry in the International Building Code and the International Residential Code of the International Code Council.
Since 1999 RE/COR Inc. has contracted some of our Roof Inspection Services to several Metro Denver City/County Building Departments as their sole or major residential and/or commercial roof inspector. We performed Code Compliance Inspections for all types of Roof Installations including concrete tile roofing, cedar shakes, asphalt shingles, and most flat roofing membranes plus many other alternative types of roofing materials. Some have used our company when hailstorms have damaged the roofs in their area. As a private contractor, we inspected most of the residential and commercial re-roof inspections for the City of Aurora, Colorado from February, 1999 through June, 2007, when new construction in the home building industry slowed due to the mortgage industry collapse and low City/County revenues. From May, 2005 until August, 2009 our company was contracted to inspect all the residential and commercial new roof construction and re-roof installations for the City of Greenwood Village, Colorado, again ending due to the slow down in new construction and low City/County revenues. Some of the other Colorado City and/or County Building Departments where we have performed some Code Compliance Roof Inspections for over the years are: City of Commerce City, City of Arvada, City and County of Denver, City of Littleton, and Elbert County.
Throughout the roofing industry our reputation is well known as being very knowledgeable, fair, and helpful, but also tough, strict, and not missing much. Our roof inspections are performed with consistency and we treat every roof the same no matter who roofed it. The citizens in the Cities/Counties where we have performed some of our Roof Inspection Services have been very appreciative of our thoroughness in making sure the new roof coverings have been installed correctly. Many have thanked us personally and several have written letters to their respective building departments stating their satisfaction for giving them the Peace of Mind of knowing their roofs have been properly inspected.
We have the
knowledge, the experience, the reputation, and the desire to better ensure that
your
New Roof Covering installation will be installed with the least
amount of problems now and in the future. We do not guarantee
your roof will be free from future problems or litigation but we
will greatly decrease the odds.
